Boston Main Streets Foundation (BMSF), an organization designed to build and sustain healthy commercial districts in Boston, has added Roy Hirshland, CEO and co-founder of commercial real estate firm T3 Advisors, to its board of directors.

“T3 Advisors believes passionately in place making, and we believe in Main Streets’ mission to build and sustain healthy commercial districts,” says Hirshland. As a leading real estate advisor to growing companies globally, Hirshland looks forward to supporting BMSF’s initiatives.

About BMSF

A public-private initiative established by the city of Boston in 1995, BMSF has a mission to fuel the revitalization of the city’s neighborhood commercial districts. The foundation has helped to create 1,394 new businesses, 8,176 new jobs, and 373,680 volunteer hours throughout the city of Boston.

BMSF also supports the small businesses within the Boston Main Streets organizations by helping them develop renewable income streams and increase their knowledge base and capacities.

Partnering with Roy and T3 Advisors

One way the foundation supports these small businesses is by helping them compete with larger retailers. This often involves implementing cutting-edge technologies to help businesses succeed—an area where Hirshland will be an important resource.

“Roy’s skills and contacts within the tech and biotech industries in Boston and beyond are among the best in the business,” says Joel Sklar, chairman and president of BMSF. “We feel he’ll be an invaluable resource to the Main Streets business community.”

Hirshland will also prove valuable as BMSF seeks to expand its donor base to include more of Boston’s growing tech-sector companies. “We believe Roy will be able to enhance our ability to access the decision makers in these businesses and tell the story of why they should be investing in the city’s neighborhoods through Main Streets,” says Sklar.
